It was true, Damon did love looking after her. He loved her, and she was always getting herself into some kind of trouble. Though he might say otherwise, pretend it is troublesome to him, he truly enjoyed rescuing her. Keeping her safe. Though he enjoyed her not being in danger more than anything. He worried for her, and did not want her to be hurt at all. She had been hurt enough, really he had hurt her enough himself. So now it was his priority to do all that he could to keep her from being hurt again.

Though with Stefan leaving her like this, there was nothing he could do but try to make her forget him for awhile. Though part of him would always hope she would turn to him, become his, as far as he knew she loved Stefan and would only ever love Stefan. So he would comfort her until Stefan returned and hope that if and when he did return that he would be able to protect her. He put his arm around her as she looked up and whispered to him, asking him not to leave. He kissed her forehead. He already did not want to leave, her talking to him and asking him not to leave was not helping his resolve to stay out of things between Elena and Stefan.

He laid there a few moments just looking at her face. Part of him wanting to kiss her, the other part of him wondering if she would end up waking up and slapping him. He smiled and carefully got up, picking her up and hugging her to his chest as he brought her up to his room, slid her shoes off and tucked her in. He sat on the bed beside her, lightly stroking her hair before he had to force himself to go sleep on the couch in the living room. He had trouble sleeping though so gave up after a few hours and he ran out to pick up some tylenol and just sat relaxing until he heard her stirring. He walked into his room with the bottle of tylenol and a tall glass of water and set it on the bedside table. "Good morning beautiful." he said with a smile. "I figured you might need these." he said nodding towards the tylenol and water"

Damon sat on the bed beside her. He smiled. "Well, today won't be much fun for you, but is it worth it at least?" he asked with a chuckle. He did not get hangovers now obviously, but he vaguely remembered them. Drinking at parties and such when he was yet to be a vampire.

He smiled when she asked why she was in his bed. She did nto seem to remember everything about the night. Part of him wanted to poke fun and joke as if something more than a kiss happened, but he figured she would worry too much over it so opted for joking around in a different way. "WELL, since you don't want me to leave you alone, and there seems to be a small possibility that you will fall madly in love with me, I just figured you should get better acquainted with it." he joked.

"Kidding of course. I just figured that it would be more comfortable for you than the floor. Don't worry I slept on the couch downstairs." he said.
