    Elena was bored everyone was either busy or just plain ignoring her, sighing she looked around her room remembering a time when everything was so much simpler. A time before Stefan and Damon Salvatore came into her life. A time when all she had to worry about what she was going to wear to the next school dance. She laughed a little Mystic Falls high did have a lot of dances. And at nearly all of them she almost got killed or someone was after her.

    Picking up her journal she opened up to a random page and smiled. It was about Stefan she missed him the way he was before he went all ripper Stefan. She wished that he would go back to being her Stefan but she had pretty much given up on him ever going back to the way he was.

    Hearing a sound from downstairs she stood, put her journal down and began to walk over to the door. “Hello”. She called out then laughed remembering all the horror movies she watched. They all called out and they ended up dead. She shook her head and walked downstairs to see who had come to visit her. At least she wouldn’t be bored anymore.

Thomas had retrieved the name Elena from speaking to Damon. He was almost certain the man would have warned the woman he was coming, seemed like the type to let his friends know the police were on their way to talk. Even if it was still his day off, Thomas smirked just knowing he was ruffling the right feathers. As he knocked on the door, he stood there, removing his hat and placing it under his arm now. As Elena would come downstairs and answer the door he would give his best smile. "Good day Miss Elena. My name is Thomas Kessinger and I'm a Detective here in Mystic Falls." Reaching into his jacket he would retrieve a card and hand it to her. "I was hoping we could chat for a bit."

Thomas looked past the woman, checking out the background as he also eyed her. If she accepted the card he would nod and smile. "I was hoping I'd be able to come in? Lord knows all of this leg work in meeting the residents and people of importance can take it's toll on a man. Being new here, I don't know all the shortcuts and easy ways around town, you know?"

Coming to the door she opened it and looked at the man standing there. She wondered who he was and why he was at her door. She took his card and looked at it wondering what this man wanted to talk to her about. She was a bit worried about strange men wondering up to her house and knocking on her door. She wondered where Damon was and what he was doing. Would he be ok with her talking to this man. She didn’t know if she should invite him in or not. What if he was a Vampire? She got an idea she wouldn’t say anything but just step aside and see if he was able to get in.

Stepping aside she looked up at him and shrugged waiting for him to either step in or show himself as a vampire. “Well I guess you already know me.” She said waiting for him to walk in. She walked into the front room and waited for him. “What is it that you need?” she asked. She wondered if Damon had met this man yet or not.

"Well Miss Elena, if I may use your first name, I've already spoken to one Damon Salvatore and was going to speak to his brother, I believe his name is Stefan, about the surroundings of Mystic Falls and if you knew of any odd and unusual activity going on." Smiling he stepped past her as he walked into the home, looking about and taking in the quaint place. "You have a lovely home Miss Elena." Turning back to face her, the smile still there on his face. "As I stated before I'm new here, and I'm a Detective in the police department. Seems there have been a few... untimely deaths and since it's fallen to me to work the case, I decided to make the rounds to those who are familiar with this town and see if I could find any information."

Looking back around once more, not moving further into the house until the woman would do so, being that would be quite rude. "Unfortunately, seems I can't locate the other Salvatore. Name sounds like it belongs in the Italian mob, wouldn't you agree?" Thomas snickered a bit at his own joke, keeping a keen eye on the woman to see if anything noticeable could be taken into account. She seemed ordinary enough, but then again, a majority of monsters are normal.

She nodded to him about using her first name was a bit shocked that Damon had talked to this man and didn’t give her any kinds of heads up that he was going to come speak to her. “Stefan is away on business.” She said, saying the story that Damon and her had come up with in case anyone not in the know had asked about him. “I can’t really say that I do know of any unusual activity. I’m just a small town High school girl.” She said, forcing a smile on her face. She hoped that the smile looked natural. She had been practicing making a natural face when talking to suspicious people that she didn’t know. “Thank you.” She said in response to him talking about her house. “It’s a family home.” She said, “Well like I said a bit ago I really don’t know much about any unusual activity.”

She watched as he moved into her house and breathed a silent breath of relief. At least she didn’t have to deal with a vampire. Though as she found out humans could be just as deadly. She moved further into the house and waited for him to follow her. “You can have a seat.” She said nodding to the sofa and chair. “Would you like anything to drink?” she asked, turning away and smirking a bit when he mentioned the Italian Mob jab. “The name maybe. But not the boys.” She said, “Stefan and Damon can both be very sweet.” She said thinking about all the times she had spent with Stefan being sweet to her. Though she didn’t have many memories with Damon being sweet there were a few. She turned back to him and waited for his answer about the drink.

"Ah, both sweet you say. So, I'm guessing a pretty young woman such as yourself has the pick of both eh?" Shaking his head he declined the seat. "Thank you Miss Elena for the offer, however I own't be staying to too long. I would like a water though, that'd be fantastic, thank you." Smiling, he kept his eyes on her, studying her. "You know, I keep hearing about this business he's away on. Stefan seems like a busy little boy." Walking around a little bit he would turn back to face her.

"It's a beautiful family home, I must admit. As for the activity, most people see more than they let on, or even understand you know? A smell, a sound, an afterthought, sometimes leads to the break in huge cases. That's what I'm hoping for with this particular one I'm assigned. A few gruesome murders, something I'm certain a normal high schooler such as yourself would know nothing about, but maybe you saw some strange fellow in town who didn't belong?" Thomas was fishing, he knew who he was investigating now, but he couldn't let on.

Sipping on his water he would offer another smile, waiting to see if he got any kind of reply from the questions he was asking. He was here to both learn about her and more about these Salvatores, if she was open to giving any useful information that was.

She was offended though she didn’t show it because didn’t Katherine say the exact same thing. “Stefan and I are together.” She said stretching the truth because at the moment he was off being a ripper. She walked into the kitchen and grabbed two water bottles out of the fridge. Bringing it back to him she handed him one of the waters and sat down on one of the arm chairs of her couch. “Yeah he’s very busy.” She said not elaborating on where he was. One because he was probably off killing people and two because she really didn’t know where he was.

“Thank you.” She replied about his comment about her home. She nodded at the second part of this statement. “Unfortunately Mr. Kessinger I don’t really know if anything is going on. I like to stay to myself, family and friends.” She said smiling. “Being in High school also keeps me pretty busy.” She replied. “I’m not really one to talk to strangers.” She replied, making a jab about his being here wasn’t really wanted. He was being far too carious even if he was a police officer detective. She wasn’t really comfortable talking to him either alone. She would have preferred to have Damon there with her. She really wished to get this little whatever it was over.

Thomas smiled a little bit but nodded. "Yes well, strangers can be dangerous that's certainly true." Replacing his hat on his head and adjusting himself, he would give her a nod. "Miss Elena you've been more than helpful and I appreciate that very much. Thank you." Moving towards the door as he continued to sip on the water, he would turn towards her. "You have my card. I hope if you hear or see anything you'll give me a call, yes?" Thomas knew she wouldn't.

Waiting for her few replies if she had any, he would take his exit and start to walk back towards his car. Yet another cigarette found it's way to his mouth as he shook the pack to find it empty and on his last one. Lighting it, he sighed. Stories extremely similar. could be true, could be rehearsed. Both defensive towards mention of Stefan. Would be good to look into him if he ever shows up again. Thomas made a mental note to himself as he took a deep drag of his last cigarette.

"Now I just need something to pass the time... Wonder what's on the hunter radar." Thomas smirked as he hopped back into his patrol car and drove off from Elena's home.

“It sure is.” She replied nodding at him. She wanted for him to leave so much, she couldn’t help but be happy at his words and she would talk to Damon about why he did not warn her about this man. She nodded again and held up the card. “That I do.” She walked with him to the door and smirked. “I will give you a call if I hear or see something.” She nodded, she knew that she would do no such thing.

She closed the door behind him and shook her head. She would really need to get to Damon as fast as she could to tell him what happened. She was sure that he would want to know what happened and how she handled him, and what story she told him. She sighed and began to pace back and forth.
