Hunters
Universes: Supernatural, Vampire Diaries, Teen Wolf
Special Abilities:
Between the universes, hunters are pretty much the same. All bent on hunting the supernatural(though in some cases they will be after specific types of creatures i.e. Vampire Hunters or Werewolf Hunters). They usually have information and tools for most occasions which allows them to fight whatever they are hunting. They also come in varying sizes and ages so long as they can get the job done. Hunters are also usually just regular humans. There are a few variations on some things in some of the universes that you can read about below.
Supernatural Hunters:
Supernatural hunters can often use spells to trap demons, angels and what not. On the site we may have to limit this ability, but as of right now we are not enforcing any limits on how many people can have this kind of hunter. However, we do strongly reccommend that you do not choose this kind of hunter if you have never seen the show and have no idea how the spells work as that will seriously complicate roleplay threads with your hunter if you are going up against a hunter.
Vampire Diaries Hunters:
Vampire Diaries hunters for the most part are regular humans with no special abilities. However there are a VERY FEW select hunters with special circumstances. Very few hunters (namely the Gilbert family and Alaric Saltzman who acquired the ring from Isobel), have special rings that will bring them back to life if killed by a supernatural creature. Alaric Saltzman had a dark alter-ego because of the ring and ended up a vampire because of it (However, whether this happens in the forum depends on whoever plays him). Also, there are the Brotherhood of the Five hunters who have a sort of enhanced strength and speed to them in order to try and take out Klaus Mikaelson. The only hunter known in the universe is Jeremy Gilbert, which leaves 4 members. If we allow people to play the brotherhood hunters there would only be 4 others aside from Jeremy obviously.)
Origin: The origins vary between universes, but essentially when supernatural creatures pop up and start killing people then hunters arise and over the years they learn some nice tricks to take them out.
How Do You Become one:
Simply, you somehow find out about supernatural creatures (normally under a personal tragedy though could be just seeing a stranger killed), and you take up arms to go after them. It is best to have some hunter training through another hunter where you can learn more about what you are hunting (specifically how to find them and how to kill them, with some techniques on using weapons of course).
Weaknesses:
Generally, because the hunters are often normal humans they can be killed by any means that will kill a human. If they are trained, in shape, intelligent, well prepred, etc. It will be harder to get them compared to the normal everyday human, but they will die just like any human. THe only exception to this is the vampire diaries hunters like Alaric who have rings that will bring them back from supernatural death, and the brotherhood of the five hunters are much more durable (and killing them means that you will have halucinations from them convincing you to kill yourself. Which can last for an undetermined amount of time, though usually for centuries.)
Strengths: For the most part their strengths are in their athletic abilities, intelligence, prepardness, and how equipped they are with knowledge of supernatuarl creatures and weapons. If they have some special circumstances (i.e. Alaric, the brotherhood, if a supernatural creature becomes a hunter), it various depending on what the special circumstances are.
Food Source: Most are human, so they eat human food. (If they are a vampire, demon or werewolf, which is unlikely, they would eat based on their creature type obviously).
Forms: Usually just their human form.
